I wasn"t acting. Soulful acting. extremely dark character,  must have been rly hard on him psychologically... Did anyone else notice that on the King of Comedy cover art the main character is on a playing card. A JOKER playing card.

0:23 the way he laughs and just stops in an instant give me a chills. Then you"re gonna love me. Bold assumption there, Bats. The Clown has already fallen head over heels for you, and changed his Facebook relationship status to It"s complicated by the time this whole rolls around. This movie is one of the best films I"ve seen. It"s absolutely incredible, this film is different from the rest of the other films because of its powerful message and it"s unsettling vibe. This movie should win all the trophy"s in the world.

He is STILL Arthur Fleck, he is STILL the Joker. Even during his speech... Honestly I never comment at all, but I feel like I need to tell this story. It was the middle of october and me and my friends went to the movie theatre to watch the film. I suffer from quite a lot health issues one of them being a pressure on my metimes I fell like I"m on a plane but it"s not constantly like that.I just ignore when it gets too loud everything gets worse. However after 10 min being in the film I got a terrible headache and such an ear pressure (because it was too loud) thus I went outside to the bath.I looked in the mirror and kept telling myself that I"d be okay. When I went inside again everything got at it"s worst.I had such a pain I couldn"t take it anymore. I had such a pain that I HAD to get out but told my friends to watch the movie.I"d just wait they didn"t want to leave me alone.Unfortunately I had to pass right in front of quite a lot people to get out. They realized that I wanted to get out again and began making complaints such as Uh, Not Again or Why can"t she sit on her seat I wanted to shout at their face and say:How can you have so much empathy with the joker but not with me and all the other people suffering from a variety of illnesses. I don"t wanna say that they shouldn"t have empathy with the joker but I kinda mean it like people are to blind and can"t see what one is going through) However I guess the worst part about having a(n) mental) illness is that people expect you to behave as if you don"t.

For someone who has anxiety issues, i can see Joaquin"s having it when he gave the speech. It made me cried bc that"s how i do it too. Congrats to Joaquin, cheers to more great movies. Great speach ??. He is hungry wants some water and has to be on something also tired of talking about the joker.

I had been psyched since the announcement of the movie and then the casting of Phoenix. Never doubted him for a second; I was more nervous about what he would be given to work with; this all was super hush hush until the preview and then exceeded my expectations and then some. I"m not even going to get into comparing his Performance to Ledger. There"s no comparison and wish people would stop already. 2 completely different movies and iconic in their performances. There"s that movie every now and again that is truly outstanding, breathtaking and sends you reorganizing your top 10 list of all time favs. Joker was never a disappointment. In fact; it was perfect. I felt what I feel like the writer/director wanted and that was to feel his pain, his anger, his hate and disdain for a world that he never asked to be in yet was doomed from conception; rejected by society, abused, misunderstood, just longing to be accepted and loved but immensely socially awkward. In case that wasn"t enough; he then keeps taking the hits. his job, his Mother and past all lies, the government and healthcare cut and just keeps taking the hits. How could we all not relate to the King of Anarchy and Choas in today"s world? I won"t continue with the spoilers but the moment he breaks; you know it and he never meant to made a martyr or symbol; he was just tired of the BS and stood up foe himself by fighting back (initially. Anywho, super stoked and excited to see what the future has in store for Phoenix and the next movie and continued success. Not sure if anything is confirmed after that.
Phoenix deserves every freaking award he gets and dang well better as does the movie, writers and director etc. His laugh was also perfect! No other way to explain it; perfect! My money on the best movie this year was Tarantino"s movie and it was great as expected; but this is the best movie I have seen in years.

When you suddenly burst out laughing in the middle of class because you randomly thought of a joke you made 5 years ago Teacher: What"s so funny? Me: You wouldn"t get it. Joaquin Phoenix might actually be the first to be able make the audience feel sympathetic toward the joker for once and not make him look like a complete villan. Yea boi it"s out now. This scene was only 5 minutes long? I swear it felt longer. The one movie where i liked the villain more than the hero.

I love how Todd Phillips gives the majority of credits to Joaquin for his breathtaking performances and even credits the stuntman and other workers on set by names.
