D?ne gyermekei. Dunellen theater. Dune trailer 1984. Dunedin fl map. I first started reading Dune back in the 70s, and I have been reading it every year or two ever since. Its the best science fiction work I have ever read. David Lynchs movie was the best version so far. He got the characters right. Kyle McLaughlin was perfect as Paul. The problem with his movie was it tried to cram too much into one movie. The Syfy channel miniseries was better in terms of giving it the time the book deserved, but the characters were mostly wrong: Paul was cast as kind of a brat. He was impatient and annoyed and didnt have the awareness and intelligence that that character was supposed to have. Not to mention they cast an actor with blond hair! Leto was all wrong as William hurt. Chani In the book is described as elf like, and yet they cast this big thick girl to play that role. Again, David Lynchs casting was spot on for that character as well. Im kind of forgetting some of the other characters in the mini series now, but I thought they cast the baron pretty good, although he wasnt quite evil enough— but again, David Lynch gave us an appropriately evil, creepy, gross character as the baron. I hope there is a new adaptation of Dune. Two movies sounds perfect.

Dune buggy for sale. Really enjoyed this. So much better than the original cut. I also liked that you got rid of that apalling blue-screen shot when Paul falls down the cliff at 1:56:07. D c5 b1ne back. Been a Dune lover my whole life. With the complexity of the story, I"m not sure ANY film adaptation will do it justice. I"ll still go see it though.

Dune is a mess. An ambitious mess. A brave mess. But still, a mess. 
I don"t totally blame David Lynch. He really went for it and brought a version of Dune to the screen that tried to be faithful to the novel. But it"s incredibly hard to translate something as complex and epic as Dune to film. This is a story that works better when your imagination brings it to life. Your vision of a Guild Navigator, the revolting Baron, or the opulence of the Emperor"s court is bound to eclipse the cheesy and low-budget (in appearance, at least) sets, costumes, and special effects of Dune. 
Some flaws can directly be laid at Lynch"s feet, though. The tone  of the movie is often wildly over-the-top and absurd and the casting is questionable, at best. 
Good try, but this adaptation doesn"t work.

Dune trailer. This is one of my favorite books, but the screenplay bears little resemblance to the original story line. The weapons are pure fiction, the evil character an unbelievable buffoon, and the major point of the story is completely overlooked. This Baron was not sinister, and certainly not perverse. The Emperor is portrayed as a weakling who bows to the will of the spacing guild at the drop of a hat, VERY REGAL. Even the Fremen were misrepresented. Where were their Burkas, the capes, the disdain they had for the fighting ability of their enemies? This movie did not impress me as a story of a feudal coup for revenge against a generation"s long enemy nor as a Baron capable of plotting the overthrow a galactic emperor. I doubt the screen writer ever read the book.

D?ne könyv rendelés. I will now love you forever for giving me this. Dune 2000. I applaud your ending. The book ending was anticlimactic but in a film it would have been far worse. The film needed to end with a miracle to show that he was the messiah. The original DeLaurentis ending was good but I think your cut is the better since it ties up the loose ends. People think that the whole of Arrakis is inundated with the storm but my read is that Paul caused the storm on the citadel so as to shower his faithful with that most precious of gifts.
